Mr. Naresh Kumar
Mr. Naresh Kumar, a career diplomat of Indian Foreign Service, joined as the first resident Ambassador of India to the Islamic Republic of Mauritania on 3 May, 2024. He joined the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India on 16 March, 1990.
Before joining as the Ambassador in the Embassy of India, Nouakchott, He has served abraod in various capacities in the Embassy of India, Baghdad (1992-1994), Embassy of India, Yangon (1997-2000), Consulate General of India, Frankfurt (2004-2007), Embassy of India, Lao PDR (2011-2014), Consulate General of India, Johannesburg (2014-2017) and Consulate General of India, Guangzhou (2018-2021).
At Headquarters in New Delhi, he has served in different capacities in the Administration Division, Protocol Division, External Affairs Minister’s Office, Consular, Passport & Visa Division and the Foreign Service Institute, Ministry of External Affairs..
He is a Commerce Graduate with Honours from University of Delhi. He speaks Hindi and English. He is married to Mrs. Seema Kumar, and has a son and a daughter.
